// contributors welcome

Your first change.
Our next step.

You don’t have to build an entire feature. A detailed bug report, clearer instructions or a test on your device can make a real difference.

01 / try it out

Test & report.

Try a project. When reporting a bug, include your device, app version, steps to reproduce and the expected result.

02 / make it clear

Explain & translate.

Improve a guide, add an example or help make an app available in another language.

03 / build on it

Discuss & develop.

Find a manageable issue. Discuss larger changes first and keep your first pull request focused.

How to get started

  1. Choose a project and read its README and any contribution guidelines.
  2. Check whether an issue already covers your topic. If it doesn’t, briefly describe your idea in the relevant repository.
  3. For code contributions: fork the repository, create a branch and check your changes locally.
  4. Open a pull request describing the problem, your solution and the tests you ran.

You don’t need to know everything. A specific question with a little context is a good starting point.
